Fraud Analyst

About the role

Snapp is hiring a Fraud Analyst in Tehran to safeguard the integrity of its ride-hailing and urban mobility platform. The role identifies, analyzes and prevents fraudulent activity, minimizes financial losses and improves user trust through data-driven detection strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze large-scale datasets to detect fraud patterns, anomalies and emerging behaviors.
• Investigate complex fraud cases and conduct root cause analysis.
• Build dashboards, reports and analytical tools to monitor fraud trends and measure business impact.
• Design and evaluate fraud detection rules and models using metrics such as Precision, Recall, F1-score and ROC-AUC.
• Run A/B tests and analytical experiments to assess fraud prevention initiatives.
• Turn analytical findings into clear recommendations for stakeholders and business teams.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Operations and Customer Service teams to implement scalable fraud prevention solutions.
• Monitor evolving fraud techniques and recommend new detection and prevention strategies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, MBA or another quantitative field.
• 3+ years of experience in Data Analytics, Fraud Analytics, Risk Analytics or a similar analytical role.
• Strong business acumen on fraud prevention and risk management, and strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently, own initiatives and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Required skills

• SQL for querying and analyzing large datasets.
• Python with Pandas, NumPy and Scikit-learn.
• Statistics, hypothesis testing and experimental design.
• Familiarity with Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
