Driver - Global Fund Programme

About the role

The UNDP Iran Driver provides reliable, safe and efficient transportation for staff and authorized personnel under the Global Fund programme, supporting travel and operational activities. The role reports to the Global Fund Programme Specialist and coordinates day-to-day work and vehicle maintenance with the Head of the Common Services Unit. It is based in Tehran.

Key responsibilities

• Safely drive UNDP vehicles to transport authorized personnel, visitors and documents, including airport transfers and field visits.
• Keep official documents and materials secure during storage and transport.
• Carry out daily vehicle inspections, servicing and cleaning, and keep records of trips, fuel, repairs and expenses.
• Report vehicle issues promptly and help with logistics such as customs, visas and airport formalities.
• Follow traffic laws and UNDP transport and safety rules, keep driving logs and travel records, and respond to security incidents according to UNDP procedures.

Required profile

• Secondary education (high school diploma).
• Valid, clean driver's licence and at least 2 years of professional driving experience with a safe record.
• Fluent Persian (Farsi) and working knowledge of English.
• Experience with emergencies and security, and with international organizations, is an advantage.

Required skills

• Knowledge of fleet management policy and procedures.
• Basic knowledge of common vehicle breakdown issues and minor repair and maintenance.
• Advantage: basic computer skills (Outlook, MS Word, Excel) and use of office equipment such as photocopiers, scanners and printers.
