Public Information Intern – UNIC Tehran

About the role

The United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) in Tehran is seeking a motivated Public Information Intern to support its outreach activities. Working under the Officer‑in‑Charge, you will help convey UN messages to Iranian audiences through media monitoring, content creation and event support.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor local and regional media for news relevant to the United Nations.
• Research, draft and update online and offline public‑information materials.
• Assist in recording, editing and subtitling videos for UN campaigns.
• Support media outreach by distributing press releases and information to journalists and civil‑society partners.
• Help organise UN‑related events such as round‑tables, conferences and Model UN simulations.
• Provide general administrative support for public‑information activities.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or having completed a graduate programme, or in the final year of a bachelor’s degree.
• Proficient with standard computer software applications.
• Strong interest in the United Nations and commitment to its Charter.
• Ability to work respectfully with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.

What we offer

• Unpaid, full‑time internship (35 hours/week).
• Duration of three months with possible extension up to six months.
