Postdoctoral Researcher

About the role

The Iran University of Science and Technology is seeking a full‑time hybrid Postdoctoral Researcher based in Tehran. The role combines independent and collaborative research within engineering and science disciplines, with flexibility for some remote work.

Key responsibilities

• Design, execute, and analyse experiments to advance ongoing research projects.
• Prepare manuscripts for peer‑reviewed journals and contribute to grant proposals.
• Present research findings at seminars, conferences, and departmental meetings.
• Mentor graduate and undergraduate students and support laboratory activities.
• Collaborate with faculty, external partners, and multicultural teams to strengthen the university’s international research profile.

Required profile

• Strong research skills including experimental design, literature review, and scholarly writing.
• PhD in Materials Science, Engineering, Physics or a closely related field (completed or near completion).
• Demonstrated record of peer‑reviewed publications and conference presentations.
• Effective communication in English; additional language skills are a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively with minimal supervision and adhere to research ethics and open‑science practices.

Required skills

• Laboratory techniques and safe experimental practices, including use of relevant equipment.
• Data analysis using statistical, computational, and simulation tools.
