Finance Officer – Kerman (Iran South) – Nationals Only

About the role

The Finance Officer will ensure that all financial activities in Iran South are carried out in line with NRC policies, standard operating procedures and donor requirements. This role supports field‑based finance staff, promotes transparency and contributes to the development of cash‑based and market‑based programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Adhere to NRC finance policies, tools, handbooks and donor guidelines.
• Maintain accurate financial records in both hard‑copy and electronic formats.
• Verify contracts, payment requests and purchase requisitions up to the authorized threshold.
• Finalize monthly financial closures and prepare status reports for management.
• Conduct financial verification of implementing partners’ reports.
• Support budget monitoring, financial reporting for the area and reconciliation projects.
• Provide finance induction and training for new staff and line managers.
• Promote continuous improvement ideas for the Finance Department.
• Ensure proper filing of documents and support ongoing operational finance mechanisms.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in finance or accounting, including at least 1 year in an NGO or UN context.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Iranian finance regulations and donor requirements.
• Fluency in English and Persian, both written and spoken.
• Ability to travel as needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with modern accounting software and computer‑based financial tools.
