Data Management and Analysis Assistant

About the role

The Data Management and Analysis Assistant leads data collection, cleaning, processing and analysis activities to produce timely market price analyses, reports and data products. The role ensures high data quality, builds visualization tools and leads the team on routine and ad-hoc statistical tasks under the supervision of the head of programme.

Key responsibilities

• Data collection and management: support setting up food security monitoring assessment systems, support programme targeting at geographic and household levels, collect and clean quantitative datasets and maintain them
• Data processing and analysis: categorize and process data with standard statistical methods, run statistical analyses and lead extraction and analysis of national datasets on food insecurity, poverty and socioeconomic vulnerabilities
• Data visualization and reporting: produce charts and tables, develop and maintain dashboards, and prepare data inputs for reports and knowledge products
• Coordination: work with the VAM regional office, liaise with team members and sister agencies, and share technical inputs to improve workflow
• Monitoring: support the Monitoring Unit with guidance, develop monitoring frameworks, reporting templates, questionnaires and data collection tools, and guide the analysis of monitoring data
• Other duties: ad-hoc statistical or data-related tasks and other duties assigned by the supervisor

Required profile

• Secondary school education; post-secondary training in statistics, data analysis, economics, information management or a related field is a must
• At least five years of progressively responsible experience in data management, statistics or analytical support, including large quantitative datasets and statistical analysis or estimation
• Fluency in the duty station language and working knowledge of English
• Good understanding of the local context in Iran

Required skills

• Proficiency in spreadsheet software and basic statistical tools
• Advantageous: data visualization and reporting tools, familiarity with data quality principles and structured data workflows
• Desirable: knowledge of or exposure to market analysis or VAM-related data
