Driver (Tehran Liaison Office)

About the role

The Light Vehicle Driver will support the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) by safely transporting authorized personnel and handling official mail, documents, and supplies from the Tehran Liaison Office. This position reports directly to the Head of the Tehran Liaison Office and plays a key role in maintaining vehicle readiness and compliance with UN security and reporting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Drive UNAMA vehicles safely for authorized personnel transport.
• Deliver and collect official mail, documents, supplies, and other items.
• Perform daily vehicle checks (oil, water, battery, brakes, tires) and routine maintenance.
• Carry out minor repairs such as changing flat tyres.
• Ensure vehicles are fully fueled, clean, and road‑worthy.
• Record official trips, mileage, fuel consumption, oil changes, and greasing.
• Report vehicle damages, mechanical and electrical faults to the Transport Officer.
• Comply with UN reporting procedures for accidents, incidents, and security directives.
• Assist in data collection, analysis, and preparation of reports or presentations.
• Support the updating of informational material such as web pages or brochures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
